Dr. Nicholas E. Lombardo o.p. doceert historische en systematische theologie aan de Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.
Hij studeerde in Cambridge en deed onderzoek aan de universiteiten van Fribourg en Durham. Hij doet met name onderzoek naar de filosofie van emoties, de geschriften van Thomas van Aquino en systematische theologie.
Br. Nicholas is de auteur van The Logic of Desire: Aquinas on Emotion (CUA Press, 2011),The Father’s Will: Christ’s Crucifixion and the Goodness of God (Oxford University Press, 2013), en 20s/30s Ministry: A Guide for Parishes (Paulist Press, 2016).

Does Scripture reflect God’s intention?
Dr. Lombardo will present a paper entitled ‘The Text of Scripture and the Intention of the Divine Author’.
In this paper, Dr. Lombardo explores the question: When interpreting Scripture, how does the intention of the human author relate to God’s authorial intentions? Usually, contemporary exegetes take for granted that the human author’s intention is the key to knowing the divine author’s intention.
However, Dr. Lombardo argues that sometimes the divine author intends less than human authors do. Come find out the implications and applications of Dr. Lombardo’s hypothesis.
